The upcoming closing ceremony serves as not only a significant milestone for these five excellent works to officially debut to the public after their transition from script to screen, but also offers a chance to enjoy unique, culturally rich films from Korean cinema.

Diverse impressions from five Vietnamese cinematic personalities

The focal point of the event is the premiere of five Vietnamese short films featuring diverse storytelling styles, revolving around reflections on family, identity and modern pressures. The audience will be immersed in the poetic atmosphere of Deep Blue Days (Những Ngày Xanh Thẳm) by Vu Trung Duc, which uses the backdrop of the Northern countryside to tell a story about memories and the fear of growing up.

Contrasting with that tranquility is the psychological tension in Clatter (Lạch Cạch) by Le Hoang – a work exploring existential crises through haunting sounds. While Made in Vietnam by Nguyen Duy Anh poses poignant questions about human connection in the digital age, Utopia by Cam Duc Hiep brings thoughtful laughter through the ironic encounter between indigenous culture and industrial elements in Moc Chau.

The final piece of the puzzle is Dream is a Snail (Giấc Mơ Là Ốc Sên) by Nguyen Thien An, a satirical film about the era of “superficial appearances”, featuring visuals meticulously crafted by renowned D.O.P (Director of Photography) Chananun Chotrungroj.

The event will also screen 5 Korean short films from the Story Up 2024 program.
